The Bachchans have invested Rs. 11.70 crore in Ms Ecstasy Realty Pvt Ltd's project in Andheri, a suburb in western Mumbai. Of this amount, R4.50 crore has been loaned to Shobhit Ranjan, the chairman of the realty company.

Former IPS officer turned social activist YP Singh has raised the issue of violation of environmental norms, accusing the company of constructing a mall in a tree plantation buffer area.

The Bachchans could not be reached for comment. Ecstasy Realty Pvt Ltd denied allegations of green zone violation, saying all development work was in accordance with relevant permission.

On the Bachchans, the company said, "Mr Bachchan and Mrs Bachchan have purchased (an) apartment from Ecstasy like many others and there is nothing illegal about giving loans."
