The hot summer wind proved to be the only deterrent to the Persistence Resistance 2009 (PR) held at the India International Centre (IIC) in the Capital over the weekend.

Gargi Sen, filmmaker and founder of Magic Lantern Foundation that organised the documentary film festival for the second time, said the ‘loo’ was perhaps the only thing they hadn’t factored in.

The highlight of the three-day festival that showcased a wide range of political contemporary films from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, etc., was its scale of broadcast – over 150 films were screened at 16 locations all over the venue.

The only drawback said Aruna Vasudev (founder-director of Osian’s Cinefan), “There wasn’t enough audience because of exams, IPL and elections on.”
