There is relief in store for a large number of undertrials in Tihar Jail. The Delhi government on Wednesday informed the High Court that it will help those who are languishing in jail since long despite getting bail from the lower court but not surety.

Government counsel Najmi Waziri told a Bench that the prison administration is compiling a list of undertrial prisoners and it would be sent to various magistrates and additional sessions judges so that they can “do the needful”.
