The gym that was inaugurated by medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr NK Mohanty, on Saturday, is equipped with 17 stations dedicated to strengthening and conditioning of specific group of muscles.

"It has separate stations for upper and lower limb workout; a cricketer, who is a bowler, for example, has different workout requirements than a tennis player," said Dr Deepak Chaudhary, director, SIC.

The gym will be open for people for free from Monday. "We have international wrestlers operated for ligament injuries. We will start by training them," said Dr Chaudhary.
