Leader of the House in north civic body Mahender Nagpal said on Tuesday that people who pay their house taxes early online will avail of this special discount.

"This will be in addition to the 15% rebate already available. Properties registered in the name of senior citizens, physically handicapped and women will also get an additional 30% discount, making the total discount of 45%, if tax is paid before June 30," Nagpal said.

The move, according to the corporator, has been initiated to collect maximum house tax.

"We have also ordered setting up of camps at places where the area councilors and RWAs want one. People can also go to the zonal offices and pay their house tax. Payment can be made in cash if tax is less than Rs 5,000 and tax over Rs 5,000 it will have to be paid through a demand draft (DD) addressed to the commissioner," Nagpal said.
