“There is no integrity in our political system anymore. We have participated in the freedom struggle and are not ready to reconcile,” said Shambhu Dutt, 92, honorary general secretary of Gandhian Satyagrah Brigade.

The members of the NGO are demanding the government accept three recommendations of the Administrative Reforms Commission appointed by the UPA. The members are planning to go on the fast unto death on January 30, before which they will start satyagrah at Jantar Mantar on January 1.

“We want the appointment of an effective Lokpal, confiscation of illegally acquired property and disqualification of electoral candidates against whom criminal cases are going on,” said Ashok Arora, Supreme Court lawyer.
