IAF downplays Pak accusation of airspace violation

In an exchange of attack, while Pakistan held India responsible for violation of its airspace on Tuesday, Pakistani troops fired on Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, the second ceasefire violation in the past four days. The Indian Air Force clarified that the aircraft may have flown closer to the border on a routine training sortie. A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) spokesman, however, said in Islamabad that two high speed Indian aircraft “violated Pakistani airspace by three nautical miles” at about 10.40 am in Attari-Fazilka sector. “The aircraft stayed inside Pakistani airspace for about two minutes,” the spokesman said in a statement. Pakistan troops on the other hand, opened firing on Indian posts in Nangi Tikri forward area along the LoC in Krishnagati sub-sector of Poonch last night, Defence PRO SN Acharya said on Tuesday.
