“The skies will remain cloudy throughout the day. Light rains/thundershower accompanied by storm are likely to occur,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Maximum temperature is likely to hover around 34 degrees Celsius.

The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 98 percent, the official said.

On Sunday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.7 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season’s average while the minimum temperature of the day settled at 24 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season’s average.

Owing to bad weather condition, more than 25 flights were diverted from Delhi on Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flight from Karnataka was diverted from Delhi to Jaipur, but landed in the national capital at around 12:10 a.m.

The Met office also forecasted heavy rains at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and South Interior Karnataka. Thunderstorm accompanied by squall is also likely to occur at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.
