JD-U suspends three MPs
The Janata Dal-United (JD-U) on Wednesday suspended three MPs from Bihar for "anti-party activities", a statement said.

"JD-U president Sharad Yadav has suspended Lok Sabha MPs Jagdish Sharma, Purnamasi Ram and Rajya Sabha MP Ejaz Ali from the party with immediate effect," said a statement issued by party general secretary Javed Raza.
Sharma (from Jehanabad) and Purnamasi Ram (from Gopalganj) had fielded their immediate kins against the party's official candidates in the recent assembly by-elections in the state, the statement said.
While Sharma fielded his wife, Purnamasi Ram fielded his son in the polls.
Ali, who is known for his opposition to the party's alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party in Bihar, is accused of violating decisions of the party.
The statement said the MPs were suspended for "working against the party's policies, programmes and decisions".
