Justice Misra is Chief Justice of Delhi High Court

Justice Dipak Misra was today appointed as the new Chief Justice of Delhi High Court. Justice Misra (56) is at present the Chief Justice of Patna High Court and has been directed to assume his new responsibility on or before May 28.

Justice Dipak Misra was today appointed as the new Chief Justice of Delhi High Court. Justice Misra (56) is at present the Chief Justice of Patna High Court and has been directed to assume his new responsibility on or before May 28, official sources said here today.

Born on October 3, 1953, Justice Misra enrolled as an advocate in February, 1977 and practiced in Constitutional, civil, criminal, revenue, service and sales tax matters in the Orissa High Court and the Service Tribunal.

He was appointed additional judge of the Orissa High Court in January, 1996. He was transferred to the Madhya Pradesh High Court in March, 1997 and became a permanent judge the same year in December.

Justice Madan B Lokur has been officiating as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court after Justice A P Shah retired on February 13 this year.
