The government was planning to launch an app-based premium bus service in the national capital.

The policy was set to come into effect from June 1 but is all set to get delayed after the L-G’s objection.

“The lieutenant governor has refused to give go-ahead to the government’s notified app-based premium bus scheme which was not introduced as per laid down rules,” a source said.

A top government official, however, said: “The L-G has advised the CM to look into the policy.”

The AAP government had recently notified the bus policy. Since the policy comes under the Motor Vehicle Act, the file was sent to L-G for approval post facto.

As per the scheme, any private company will be allowed to run buses in Delhi if they fulfil certain criteria specified under the policy.
