Call it a stroke of luck, the Delhi Police have a picture of the Nepali servant — prime suspect in the murder of a 73-year-old man in Lajpat Nagar.

Buoyed by the discovery, the police claimed on Saturday that they have identified the main suspect in the case and said the servant, Harish, perpetrated the crime along with three or four of his friends.
Since the victim, Vijay Sareen, had not got Harish’s antecedents verified by the police, there was no picture of him available.
Also, nobody knew about his residential address. But then, a man approached the police claiming that he had a photograph of Harish, which he had clicked from his cell phone, while Harish used to work for him.
“The only clue investigators had was that Harish was working at Sareen’s house for the past three months and was in contact with some local cleaners in the Lajpat Nagar-I area.
"While police teams were looking for his friends, a man living in the same locality approached the police and claimed that Harish had worked at his house,” said a police source.
The person, whose identity has not been revealed, forwarded the photograph to the police. The same was shown to some local cleaners.
“As many as 10 people, including those who knew Harish, were questioned. The photograph has also been shared with other states’ police,” said a senior police officer.
