Lalu's son says 'will challenge verdict'

A CBI court on Monday convicted Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Prasad and 44 others in the fodder scam case that will eventually decide Bihar politics. He stands disqualified as a Lok Sabha MP.

Political reactions started pouring with the RJD assuring that the verdict will not be a blow to the party.

Lalu Prasad's younger son and his preferred political heir, Tejaswi Yadav told media that they will challenge the verdict in the high court.

He said, "My father has been a victim of a political conspiracy. He is innocent. We will appeal against the judgement and will give a befitting political reply to his opponents."

Commenting on the verdict, senior RJD leader, Ashish Ranjan Sinha said, "We respect the court's verdict, but it is not a blow to RJD."
