City magistrate Sanjay Chauhan has been asked to look into the “unnatural” death of Anuradha, 41. The magistrate will find out the circumstances under which the sisters confined themselves and the possible reasons for it.

The viscera sample of Anuradha has been preserved by the district hospital authorities. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also sought a report from the Noida administration.

Meanwhile, social activist Usha Thakur, who played a key role in rescuing the sisters, has registered a complaint with the Sector 20 police station, seeking action against the RWA. “The sisters went without power, water supply for months and the RWA did not take note of it.” HTC

Surviving sister too sent to ICU

Hours after her older sister died, Sonali, 31, was also shifted to the ICU on Wednesday afternoon, after her upper (systolic) blood pressure dropped to 80. The normal systolic reading is around 120.

“To increase her BP, we have put her on dopamine drip. At present her condition is critical but stable,” said Dr Amit Saxena, chief medical officer, Kailash Hospital.

More than nutritional supplements and medicines, doctors treating her feel, psychiatric counselling is important. “Both the sisters were diagnosed with acute depression with psychosis,” he said. HTC
