Man arrested for stealing cash from airport shop
A man, who stole an envelope from a retail shop at the Delhi airport, has been arrested.

Footage from the close-circuit television cameras helped the police nail the accused, who had picked up an envelope containing Rs 74,190 cash from the counters of one of the shops in the airport area.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) had received a complaint from a retail shop owner on Saturday about the theft of an envelope containing cash from his shop.
Acting on the complaint, the CISF personnel vetted the CCTV footage from the area and found that a passenger, proceeding towards the domestic transfer immigration area, picking up the envelope.
"On continued scan of the footage, it was noticed that the same passenger boarded the Jet Airways flight 9W-262 to Kathmandu," a CISF officer said.
"We immediately sought his details and found that he had arrived at the Indira Gandhi International Airport from Raipur on board a Jetlite flight S2-4610," he added.
The passenger was identified as one Sachin Gupta, a resident of Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Further investigations revealed that Gupta had a return booking from Kathmandu to Delhi on Monday by Jet airways flight 9W-263, the officer added.
On Monday, the CISF laid a cordon for him at the Terminal 3 of the IGI airport and as soon as he reached there, Gupta was apprehended.
On interrogation, he confessed to committing the theft and was later handed over to the local police.
It was not immediately known how Gupta came to know that the envelope contained cash.
