A 23-year-old man stabbed his father-in-law to death and injured his mother-in-law as a reaction to a long-standing dispute between him and his wife at outer Delhi’s Alipur, the police said on Monday.

The accused, identified as Pramod Kumar, an auto rickshaw driver who stays at Alipur’s Jindpur, had married 20-year-old Pinki three years ago and has a two-year-old daughter.

“There was marital discord between the couple. On Sunday night, Pramod came to know that his wife was at her uncle’s place in Azadpur and he went there to ask her to return, triggering an argument,” said an officer.

According to the police, an incensed Pramod then landed up at his in-laws’ home and attacked them with a knife. The neighbours hearing the commotion rushed to the spot and informed the police. While, the father-in-law succumbed to his injuries, his wife is critical.
