Man tries to implicate father in a rape case
The son of a businessman was arrested on Saturday along with his friends for trying to implicate his father in a rape and kidnapping case.
The police said the main accused, Harkesh, took the step in order to take over his father’s automobile parts business and to allegedly take revenge after his father, Ashok, lodged a burglary case against him and his friends.
The fake kidnapping incident was carried out by Harkesh with the help of his friend Raza Hassan and his wife.
On Friday, Hassan’s wife had approached New Friends Colony police station, claiming that the driver of a car, in which she had taken a lift, tried to sexually assault her but she somehow managed to escape.
The woman claimed she took a lift in a Honda city car from Nizamuddin Dargah and that the driver snatched her gold chain, mobile phone and wallet.
Cops tracked Ashok after the woman provided them with his description and gave them the car’s registration number.
“Ashok, the owner of the car, was detained. The woman’s phone and earring was also recovered from the car. But the story took a turn when Ashok told us that he had filed a burglary case against his son and his friend and they might be involved in framing him in a false case,” a senior police officer said.
To verify the claim made by Ashok, Raza Hassan was interrogated where he broke down and revealed that the complainant was his wife and the whole incident had been fabricated.
“The conspiracy was hatched by Harkesh to lodge his father in jail and to grab his business. The mobile phone and earring were planted by Harkesh with the help of a second car key lying at his house,” the official added.
Raza further disclosed that his wife had torn her clothes and dirtied herself with dust and mud in order to give realty to the incident.
She also gave herself scratch marks on her neck before going to the police where she gave Ashok’s description on the basis of photograph shown to her by Harkesh earlier.
She also operated her ATM card at an SBI ATM in Nizamuddin and made two phone calls to her grandmother on the directions of Harkesh to show her presence at the relevant time at Nizamuddin.
Harkesh also directed her to disclose the model and colour of the car that his father drove.
