The drive was undertaken in Sangam Vihar area of Central zone, officials said. “The building department of the zone has taken demolition action against more than 100 properties during the last one month, which is a fair amount of success to curb unauthorised constructions in different areas under its jurisdiction,” said a senior MCD official.
To ensure that people don’t buy properties wherein unauthorised construction has been carried out, the department has already uploaded the details of illegally constructed properties in different areas of Central zone on its website – www.mcdonline.gov.in. Officials said that the pace of the demolition drive will be further accelerated in the coming days.
