It demolished 13 properties in Satya Niketan, Malviya Nagar, Chhatarpur Extension, Chhatarpur Enclave, Aya Nagar, Rajpur Khurd Extension and Malviya Nagar.

Illegal portions of these buildings were demolished by the civic body. In addition, illegal floors were also targeted. The demolition action was carried out by MCD’s building department with the help of local police. The unauthorised demolished portions were not left in a habitable condition.

Officials from the building department said that such actions against unauthorised constructions will be intensified further.

“We have been taking demolition action against authorised construction for quite some time. A number of these buildings were constructed by the building mafia,” said a senior MCD official.
