Joining the austerity bandwagon, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar travelled to Patna in an economy class flight from New Delhi.

Joining the austerity bandwagon, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Friday travelled to Patna in an economy class flight from New Delhi.

"I decided to travel in economy class after the austerity call," Kumar said.

Asked whether she would convene a meeting of Lok Sabha members on the issue, she said, "this is something which is voluntary. It is up to the members to follow the suit."
