Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is expected to ask the urban development minister Kamal Nath to include the 4.6 km stretch in phase 3. If this stretch gets included there would be five corridors covering a total length of 108 km in phase 3.

Sources said that the approval for the Dwarka-Najafgarh stretch may come during the final meeting of urban development ministry any time soon. The four corridors that already got centre's nod covering 104 km, include Mukundpur-Yamuna Vihar, Janakpuri West-Kalindi Kunj, Central Secretariat-Kashmere Gate and Jahangiripuri-Badli.

Mahabal Mishra, member of parliament from West Delhi on Saturday met Prime Minister and requested his intervention to include Kakrola to Najafgarh stretch in the proposed phase 3 of Metro extension.

The proposal earlier had been approved by Delhi cabinet on June 14 and was forwarded to central cabinet for approvals. But the union cabinet did not give a go ahead to the small stretch of 4.6 km between Dwarka and Najafgarh.
