Minimum temperature dips, Saturday likely to be cloudy

The national Capital on Friday experienced slight relief in the midst of a severe heat wave with the minimum temperature dropping below 25 degrees.

The national Capital on Friday experienced slight relief in the midst of a severe heat wave with the minimum temperature dropping below 25 degrees.

The day temperature was recorded at 40.8 degree Celsius which was normal but slightly up from Thursday's 40.4 degrees.

It was the minimum temperature which registered a significant plunge settling at 24.8 degree Celsius which was three notches down from normal. The minimum temperature yesterday remained at 27.8 degree Celsius.

Humidity remained between 19 and 66 per cent.

The weather department has predicted mainly clear sky for Saturday, which is expected to become partly cloudy towards the evening. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 39 degree Celsius and 26 degree.

The hills of Himachal Pradesh on Friday saw maximum temperatures rising two-three degrees Celsius above normal in several parts. The weather office has predicted rains and thundershowers Monday onwards.
