A minor fire broke out in a multi-storeyed building, housing offices of the LIC, in the national capital on Wednesday morning.

The blaze was reported from the second floor of Jeevan Thara Building on Kasturba Gandhi Marg near Connaught Place at around 9:50 am, fire brigade officials said.

Eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot which brought the blaze under control in less than half-an-hour, they said.

An electric short-circuit is suspected to be the cause of fire.

Jeevan Thara Building houses offices of Life Insurance Corporation.
