Minor sexually abused by dad

A five-year-old girl was sexually assaulted, allegedly by her father, in central Delhi’s Patel Nagar area. According to the police, the girl’s father, who is untraceable, had been harassing her for over a month.

On March 8, the girl’s mother came to know about the incident and approached the police. The accused, identified as Rakesh, runs a small thread-making factory from his house.

Sources said that victim’s mother saw the girl in pain and asked her about it. After girl explained her trauma, she took her to her paternal house in north Delhi’s Sabzi Mandi area.

“She first approached the Sabzi Mandi police station, who asked them to file a complaint at Patel Nagar. We have registered an FIR under various sections of POSCO Act, 2012,” a senior police officer said.
