A day after anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare abruptly ended his three-day fast, Mumbaikars remained a hot topic on social networking websites.

Moments after Hazare's announcement was posted online on Tuesday, the India Against Corruption (IAC) Facebook page was flooded with comments. Hariom Sharma, who has made Mumbai his home, posted, "Mumbai shame shame … have not expected such response from home crowd."

"Mumbaikars, u don't deserve anything better than those filmi sl**s ! U r cowards, hypocrites," wrote Shyam Purohit from Udaipur.

Amid low turnout of anti-graft supporters in Mumbai, Sonik Porwal from Vizag asked, "Where is the proverbial resilience?"

Similarly, Saharanpur resident Vivek Gautam took a dig at the city and said, "Mumbai is truly the commercial capital of India. For Mumbaikars, money is everything."

However, many netizens also begged to differ. Nitin Rana from Gorakhpur said, "Mumbai is not India and Delhi is not victory. We don't need crowds … we need people against corruption. Andolan has not failed."

Similarly, Mumbai resident Pradip Doshi tried to explain what went wrong at the MMRDA grounds. "The IAC failed in getting necessary support for the agitation as it tried to utilise people for other agitations ... agitation against auto-rickshaw and cabbies was a good cause. The IAC failed to focus on the main issue (as) the other agitations were pre-mature and killed the main support."
