"Elections come and go. My job is to strengthen the party," the Congress general secretary told IANS soon after the first lot of cabinet ministers in the new government took oath at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

He, however, refused to answer any question on whether he is taking over as minister.

"I am happy that youngsters have done well," he said when asked what his role in the new government would be.

Rahul Gandhi attended the ceremony, sitting along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi and her husband Robert Vadra.
