Naqvi made BJP convener for assembly polls

BJP President Rajnath Singh on Monday appointed senior party leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi as the convener of its election management cell for the forthcoming assembly polls.

The party said Naqvi will be responsible for coordination with state units of Maharashtra, Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh where elections are scheduled on October 13.

Till recently, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley was responsible for BJP's election management and coordination.
