New Delhi: Rain brings back chill

Chilly winds and cold made a comeback in Delhi on Saturday as rain lashed the Capital, along with the rest of north India. HT reports.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 16.1 degrees Celsius, 8 degrees below normal.

The cloud cover during the night made the morning warm as the minimum temperature was recorded at 13.7 degrees, 3 degrees above normal.

Heavy rainfall was seen in the Capital on early Saturday morning till 8.30am. Small bouts of light rain were also seen throughout the day. The total rainfall was recorded as 18.6mm.

According to the weatherman, Sunday may also see light rain, especially in the morning. The temperature is expected to be between 19 and 13 degrees Celsius.

The rainfall is a result of a western disturbance that also brought snowfall in parts of Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

According to the Met officials, the coming Friday may see a fresh spell of rainfall. Fog is also expected to return to the city from Monday onwards.
