Police said the victim, identified as Dheeraj Kumar, was upset because his parents did not permit him to ride motorcycles as he had met with two accidents a few months ago. However, no suicide note has been recovered.

A senior police officer said Dheeraj's family informed the police about the matter. After receiving a PCR call, a police team reached the victim’s house and found him unconscious, he added.

"We saw froth coming out of his mouth, which suggested that he had consumed some poisonous substance. He was taken to the Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead," he said, adding that the victim's body was handed over to his parents after post-mortem examination.

Dheeraj was pursuing diploma in electric engineering from Pusa Polytechnic in Delhi.
