Barakhamba Road and Panchkuian Road will have two subways each.
“We had carried out temporary barricading on Barakhamba Road and Panchkuian Road to check the flow of traffic. On Panchkuian Road, the traffic wasn’t affected as severely as it did on Barakhamba Road. But still the situation was manageable at these two spots,” said Ajay Chadha, Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic).
NDMC spokesman Anand Tiwari said the barricading on these two roads is complete and the construction on four spots will begin tomorrow.
The traffic police have also asked the civic agency to put up minimal barricading on these two spots to avoid traffic chaos.
“We have asked them to make some room for flow of traffic on Barakhamba Road. Vehicles moving from inner to outer circle should have adequate space,” added Chadha. He said the traffic police would be reviewing other spots, too.
The overall barricading has reduced considerable, creating space for vehicles.
“In Outer Circle limited barricading is being carried out so there is space available for parking,” said Atul Bhargava, president of New Delhi Traders’ Association.
