According to chief electoral officer Satbir Silas Bedi, the voter turnout at these nine booths was recorded at 57.25 per cent.

While the only polling booth in Matiala assembly segment recorded 81.31 per cent voting, 40.11 percent voters used their franchise at one of the booths in Malviya Nagar.

According to senior electoral officers, re-polling was announced due to different reasons in different assembly constituencies.

While the six polling booths in Malviya Nagar, which went for re-polling today, were notified at the wrong place, there were complaints of malfunctioning of electronic voting machines at the two booths in Burari.

“The election observers had expressed the doubt of bogus voting at the solitary polling booth under Matiala assembly segment,” Bedi said.

The votes polled at these nine booths will also be counted along with the votes cast on November 29 for 69 assembly constituencies in Delhi.

The counting will take place on December 8.

According to election commission officials, the results will start coming out from the afternoon and all the results are expected to come out by the same evening.

Voting in the Rajender Nagar assembly segment was suspended due to the death of the Bhartiya Janata Party candidate, Puran Chand Yogi, and will now take place on December 13.
