Police arrested Jaswinder Singh from Defence Colony following investigations into a complaint filed by Tawfiq S Elfaghy, personal secretary to the ambassador. A team nabbed Singh on Saturday.
"Four men on two motorcycles snatched the purse of Fatehia Mohammed Harhor, the wife of Ambassador Ramadan Eid Elbhbah on April 7, when she along with their two children, were at C-Block market in Defence Colony," said HGS Dhaliwal, deputy commissioner of police (south).
Police said they rounded up several known bad characters from the area to look into the complaint. The police have registered a case in the matter.
According to Dhaliwal, during interrogation Singh told the police that he and his associates Bunty and Pappiya snatched the purse and mobile phone of the ambassador's wife.
Kirti Nagar police had earlier arrested Singh in a similar case. His other involvements are being verified. Raids are also being conducted to apprehend the other accused.
