Kanda, who had been sent to judicial custody till October 6, was arrested on August 18 - almost a fortnight after Geetika, his ex-employee at the now defunct MDLR Airlines, hung herself at her Ashok Vihar residence and left behind two suicide notes accusing him of forcing her to take the extreme step.

"The evidence that we have been able to gather against Kanda in the case is clear and sufficient. Two to three societies had been forcibly registered by the former Haryana minister in Geetika's name. We also have strings of email conversations between Kanda and Geetika in which his intent is clearly to harass and bully her," said an officer.

"If not for abetting her suicide, we have enough evidence to prove him culpable for offences committed under the Information Technology (IT) Act," the officer added.
