The four men were held on charges of trespassing, as Ponty’s men had barged into the farmhouse that is legally owned by his brother.

“Bhupender Singh, protocol manager of Ponty was leading the trespassers, Uday Raj Singh, PSO of Ponty Chadha, Rajpal, PSO of Ponty Chadha’s daughter and Anand Singh Bisht, his driver, have been arrested in connection with the Chattarpur case,” Vivek Gogia, Joint commissioner of police (southwest range), said.

Investigators said these four persons along with several others had barged into the farmhouse number 42 at Chattarpur and threw out Hardeep Singh’s men. A local court on Tuesday sent them to police custody till November 25.

Gogia said they were seeking more information from Sukhdev Singh Namdhari, chairman of Uttarakhand minorities commission, who went to Chhatarpur along with Ponty. He did not confirm whether the statements by Namdhari matched with those by his PSO.

Delhi Police are also analysing the call records of the slain Chadha brothers.

It has come to light that both were in touch with politicians from Punjab and UP. Sources also claimed that the Chadha brother “used the task force created by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) to settle their personal scores”.

DSGMC chief Paramjit Singh Sarna is a relative of the Chadhas.

Gogia rejected claims that Chadha family had alleged the hand of an outsider in the shootout. “Family members have not expressed any such concern,” he added.

Investigators have also learnt that Ponty had asked his men to bring musclemen from western UP a day before the incident. Sources said around 40 men had come to Delhi on Friday.

“The two men arrested in the Bijwasan case told us that seven-eight musclemen were assisting them. They said musclemen were sent to Chhatarpur as well,” said a senior police officer. Delhi Police have sent teams to Meerut and Bijnaur in search of these men.

Police are scanning footage of CCTV cameras installed near farmhouse number 21 where the Chadha family lives. “We have been told that 100-150 men were present inside Chadha’s house. Footage will confirm whether they moved from farmhouse number 21 to 42,” the officer added.
