Prostitution racket busted in central Delhi, 8 arrested

The central district police have busted a prostitution racket in central Delhi. Seven sex workers and their 40-year-old pimp have been held. All belong to poor families.

The central district police have busted a prostitution racket in central Delhi. Seven sex workers and their 40-year-old pimp have been held. All belong to poor families.

They entered flesh trade to fulfill their family requirements, police said. The arrested pimp has been identified as Yasmin, 40, a resident of Sonia Vihar Pushta.

Devesh Chandra Srivastava, additional CP (central), said the arrest came following a tip-off about racket being run in the jurisdiction of IP Estate station.

“The information was developed and a decoy customer was sent to strike a deal with Yasmin. While the deal was being struck, our team conducted a raid and apprehended them,” said Srivastava.
