Publisher held for cheating

A publisher-cum-builder was arrested in the Capital on Monday for his alleged involvement in a series of cases of cheating and forgery, police sources said. HT reports.

A publisher-cum-builder was arrested in the Capital on Monday for his alleged involvement in a series of cases of cheating and forgery, police sources said. Vijay Dikshit, the owner of Senior Media Ltd, who also runs a construction business, was apprehended from South Extension following a tip off, the police said.

“He had been evading arrest for the past few months. We got a tip off today and arrested him,” a senior police official said.

Dikshit had earlier run into controversy after publishing objectionable material in a periodical. He was arrested in that case. Dikshit was allegedly involved in seven cases in Delhi, the official said, adding he owned properties worth several crores in Delhi and NCR. A case has been registered.
