The ‘joint effort’ led to the defeat of candidates in some of the traditional seats belonging to BJP such as Sangam Vihar, Lajpat Nagar, Andrews Ganj and RK Puram. The party had been successfully winning the Andrews Ganj seat for the past four decades but lost this time.
