Among them is Tau Devi Lal Park. While fountains in the park have not been working for the past many months, the area around them has turned into a garbage dump. Even the fountain nozzel has been a stolen.
“We have stopped going to this park. We had approached the authorities many times but they have refused to do anything about it. In the past six years, I have not seen any park being upgraded or being well maintained by government. Tall buildings alone do not make any city; parks, green belt areas, good roads and connectivity equally contribute,” Sunil Yadav, vice president of the Palam Vihar resident Welfare Association said.
However, AK Mageu, executive engineer with the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) begged to differ. “People do not have water to drink. How can we provide water to run fountains. I think that residents should understand,” he said.
