Sardar Patel Marg to be closed for 2 days

As VIPs, including heads of state of four countries, call on each other before the country’s maiden BRICS Summit, Sardar Patel Marg — which connects the Capital to adjacent Gurgaon, in addition to south, southwest and central Delhi — will be out of bounds for half a day each on Wednesday and Thursday.

The route, about four kilometres in length, is taken by lakhs of commuters on a daily basis and houses most of the hotels, including the BRICS summit venue, the Taj Palace Hotel in Chanakyapuri.

Traffic restrictions will be in place till the summit’s conclusion on Thursday evening and alternative routes — especially the Upper Ridge Road, should be used to avoid congestion.
