SC adjourns black money case hearing

The Supreme Court on Thursday did not hear the petition seeking a direction to the government to take steps for the recovery of black money stashed away in foreign banks in tax havens.

The Supreme Court on Thursday did not hear the petition seeking a direction to the government to take steps for the recovery of black money stashed away in foreign banks in tax havens.

The case was listed for hearing by the apex court bench of Justice B Sudarshan Reddy and Justice SS Mijjar. It was adjourned as Justice Mijjar was on leave.

The court that is hearing the petition by eminent jurist Ram Jethmalani had in the last hearing asked the central government to file a comprehensive affidavit giving details on the money stashed abroad, the people involved and the steps taken by it to recover the same.
