The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will focus on main roads in south and west zones on day one of the drive.
The Supreme Court had last week asked the MCD to resume sealing operations against all commercial units running in violation of Master Plan 2021.
Acting according to court directions, the civic authorities will target over 55,000 shops on 573 roads notified as mixed land use, for commercial and residential purposes.
According to the new master plan, commercial establishments in mixed use roads can only run on the ground floor.
"We have no option but to face the inevitable as it's an order of the apex court. We may approach the court to give us relief by Thursday," said Praveen Khandelwal, secretary general of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).
"Our officials will conduct sealing operations under police protection," said S.K. Bhandari, deputy commissioner of MCD.
