"Security is our prime concern," Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said.

His comments came against the backdrop of US issuing directions to its citizens to restrict themselves from visiting congested areas of Delhi following "increased indications" of terrorists planning attacks.

"We have made elaborate arrangements to handle any kind of terrorist strikes. We are on vigil all the time to avert such incidents but we have no comments or reaction to such reports (by the US)," he said.

Earlier in the day, an MHA spokesperson said that the government has alerted Delhi Police on the US advisory and asked it to take necessary steps to strengthen security.
