Services make up 81% of Delhi’s GDP

The services sector contributed R2.98 lakh crore to Delhi’s gross domestic product (GDP) of R3.65 lakh crore in 2012-13. The sector includes real estate, hotels, restaurants, banking, insurance, wholesale and retail trade.

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday released “estimates of state domestic product — 2012-13” which said the sector accounted for 81.54% of Delhi’s total GDP in 2012-13 compared to 81.62% in 2011-12.

In the previous fiscal, the services sector contributed R2.53 lakh crore to Delhi’s GDP, the report said.
