Sir Ganga Ram hospital’s research institute turns one

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital’s Ganga Ram Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (GRIPMER) has turned one this year. To celebrate the occasion and release its first report, Arun Shourie, former Member of Parliament and union minister, will deliver the second GRIPMER oration in the Capital on Tuesday.

“GRIPMER was constituted to further coordinate and stimulate academics and research activities of the hospital. In the past one year, 283 research papers have been published, of which 85 are in indexed journals,” said Dr DS Rana, chairman, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

At present, the hospital is working on 45 research projects that are being funded by various organisations including Indian Council for Medical Research, WHO’s department of biotechnology, Centre’s department of science and technology and ministry of environment.

“The hospital has been running the country’s largest post-graduate training programme in 17 broad and 13 super specialities,” said Dr Samiran Nundy, dean, GRIPMER.
