About 12,000 enumerators and supervisors will carry out the census in about 33,200 enumeration blocks spread in the 11 districts of the city between February and March. The field survey is expected to cover around 45 lakh census households.

"The economic census emerges as the only source of information in respect of unorganised sector," said a senior Delhi government official. The economic census will also provide information in respect of establishments having no fixed premises such as mobile vendors, hawkers, rickshaw pullers, taxi and auto rickshaw operators, reheriwalas, cobblers, etc.
