Holding a bouquet, Sonali Behl flashed an optimistic smile. She looked assured as she held her brother’s hand while slowly being wheeled out of Kailash Hospital.

Doctors looked relived as a long-drawn battle to save a woman who had lost interests in life and almost pushed her to death had finally come to an end. Three weeks of psychological and physical treatment and preceding events have changed Sonali’s life forever. She thanked her doctors; even wrote a note of appreciation.

Rescued along with her elder sister Anuradha from self-deprivation, Sonali had frowned at those who stopped her from heading to a slow and painful end. Now she values life. At the hospital, she has developed a sense of humour too. Will she consider getting married?

“I have not found anyone who is ready to bell the cat. Let’s see,” she grinned.

Having slipped into acute depression, the two sisters isolated themselves from the outside world and chose to head to a slow end in their Noida house after years of personal losses.

Brother Vipin, who stays at a separate place, had been accused of not caring for the two sisters, resulting in the death of the elder one. But the stint at hospital has helped Sonali forgive. “I’m going to his place. He did no wrong. It was all destiny. I want to be fit and start working,” she said.
