According to police, the first accident, reported from south Delhi on Saturday night, claimed the lives of two MBA students speeding on the Ashram Flyover on their Yamaha motorcycle around 9:15 pm.

"The victims have been identified as Yumnam Herojit, 23, and Abhishek Shukla, 23, who were pursuing their MBA from a college in Noida," said a senior police officer.

Police said the victims, both of whom stayed at the Gayatri Institute of Planning and Management located at Noida Sector 62, must have been riding at breakneck speed given the nature of head injuries they suffered after colliding into the central verge of the flyover.

"The driver seems to have lost control of the vehicle near the Nehru Vihar area where the two-wheeler collided with the central verge. Such was the intensity of the impact that even their helmets were cracked open. Both died on the spot," the officer said.

In a similar accident, reported from central Delhi's Baba Kharak Singh Marg early on Sunday morning, two bikers performing high-speed stunts were injured after they rammed their two-wheeler into a stationary police vehicle around 3:20 am.

"We were responding to a call about bikers performing stunts on the Bangla Sahib Lane and stationed near the Shivaji Stadium metro station when two of the stuntmen, riding a Pulsar motorcycle, rode towards us from the Hanuman Mandir side," said a senior police officer.

One of the bikers has been identified as Sunny, 25, while the other is yet to be identified.

"As soon as they saw us stationed right in front of them, they panicked and the rider lost control of the bike, which got unbalanced and crashed to the ground before ramming into a police gypsy and skidding to a halt," the officer said.

The injured biker duo was rushed to the RML Hospital.

A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against them.
