While the UGC officials stated that they would be examining the OMR sheets manually, students demanded swifter action to fix the glitch.

Nearly 25,000 complaints had been received by UGC after students were "Disqualified due to use of unfair means," after the results for the
UGC NET examination were announced on October 22.

"Nobody knows how much time manual checking will take. They are trying to pass the buck on us. We were asked to change the centre code, after we had already filled it in.

The invigilators asked us to use whitener or scratch out the code we had already written. Due to the UGC's fault now, thousands of post graduate students are having to suffer," said Saurabh Kumar, who had taken the exam.
