Study for monorail at Mohan Garden

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit said the government will soon conduct a study for a monorail project from Mohan Garden in west Delhi. She also announced the construction of a 200-bed hospital at Mohan Garden. HT reports.

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit said the government will soon conduct a study for a monorail project from Mohan Garden in west Delhi. She also announced the construction of a 200-bed hospital at Mohan Garden.

Addressing a rally in the area, she assured the residents of piped drinking water supply and said that tankers will soon disappear. Dikshit said the government promised to provide 24 x 7 power supply and has made it possible.

"We're providing drinking water to an entire population of 1 crore 80 lakh. The per capita per day consumption of water in Delhi is 226 kl, which is the highest in the world," she said.

"With the announcement of reduction in prices of non-subsidised gas cylinders by the Union government, the prices of essential items will come down," she said.

She initiated the laying of internal sewer lines in Uttam Nagar at a cost Rs 234 crore. She also inaugurated the construction of two multi-storied community centres being built at a cost of Rs 12 crore.
