The CBSE Class 12 political science paper on Friday threw up some unexpected and tricky questions but was a balanced paper overall, said students and teachers.

Many students found the compulsory map question tricky. “Generally, there is a cartoon-based question but it was replaced by a map question this time. This was unexpected and some students found it difficult,” said Sapna Bhalla, a teacher from Bloom Public School.

Students said since the map question was on Europe, they were expected to know all the countries.

Several students found the paper a bit lengthy as well. “We had to be thorough with the book to do well in the paper.

"There were some questions from the source boxes in the textbook which usually don’t come and we didn’t encounter in sample papers,” said Sumedha Basu, a student of Mother’s International school.
